Editable transcript

An editable transcript is exactly what it sounds like — a transcript you can edit in place. It's the difference between a screenshot of a recognizer's output and a real writing surface.

Definition

An editable transcript is the text produced by a speech recognizer, made available inside an editor where you can immediately fix, format, and reuse it. In Zahvox, it's the main surface: everything else (copy, download, cleanup) happens on top of it.

It's a text box that your voice fills in. You can change any word, any moment, without starting over.

Why it matters

Recognizers make mistakes. An editable transcript makes those mistakes cheap to fix. Compare that to a recording, where every fix means re-listening and re-typing.
