Why word count actually matters

Every kind of writing has a shape. A tweet has 280 characters. An SMS is 160. A meta description sits around 160. A LinkedIn post caps at 3,000. A blog article that ranks well is usually 1,200 to 2,500 words. Knowing your count as you write keeps the shape right without a second pass.

A live counter also tells you where a draft is thin. Fewer than three paragraphs on a topic that deserves depth is usually a sign to keep going. More than a full screen without a subheading usually means you should break the section up.

Why use the Zahvox version

Plenty of generic counters exist. The Zahvox word counter sits inside a voice-to-writing platform, so the same text you count here works with the free voice-to-text tool and the planned writing modes, personas, and cleanup features.

No ads, no popups, no upload. Just fast counts you can trust while you write.

From voice-to-text to voice-to-writing

Want to turn voice into writing faster?

Zahvox starts with free tools, but the larger platform is being built for voice-to-writing workflows across notes, emails, replies, drafts, and future extension experiences.

Current web experience available today. Browser extension, AI cleanup, personas, writing modes, saved history, and desktop app are in development or planned.

This free tool supports the Zahvox voice-to-writing workflow. Use the main voice tool to capture rough thoughts, then use this utility to clean, measure, format, or prepare the text before copying it into your workflow.
