Why the blank page is so hard
Writing has two costs: producing the words and shaping the words. The blank page collapses both into one moment, so every sentence has to be right on the first try. That is exhausting. It is also why people put off writing that would only take fifteen minutes if it existed already.
Speaking separates the two costs. You produce words with your mouth. You shape them later with a keyboard. It is much easier to edit a rough draft than to write a good one from scratch.

A 10-minute exercise to break the blank page
- Open the Zahvox free tool.

- Speak for five minutes. Let it be messy. Do not edit as you go.
- Stop. Read the transcript once. Highlight the one line that sounds most like the real point.
- Move that line to the top of the document. Now you have a lead.
- Edit the rest against that lead. Keep what supports it. Cut what does not.
