Voice-to-text in Notion

Notion is where a lot of thinking lives, but Notion itself does not offer desktop voice typing. Zahvox fills the gap with a browser voice tool you can use next to any Notion page.

Quick answer

Zahvox does not have a Notion integration today. Open zahvox.com/tool in one window, Notion in another. Speak in Zahvox, edit the transcript, copy or download the text, and paste into your Notion page. Direct integration is planned, not live.

Why voice fits Notion well

Notion pages are usually thinking spaces: meeting notes, project briefs, one-off drafts, personal logs. Voice matches that mode because you are trying to get thoughts down, not format them. Speak first, structure later with Notion's slash commands.

The Zahvox to Notion workflow

  • Open zahvox.com/tool and the Notion page side by side.
  • In Zahvox, allow the microphone once.
  • Speak the section you want on the page.
  • Edit the transcript inline in Zahvox.
  • Click Copy or Download.
  • In Notion, click into the page and paste.
  • Use slash commands to turn lines into H2, toggles, callouts, or lists.

Examples by page type

  • Meeting recap: dictate the recap into Zahvox, clean it, paste into your Notion meeting template.
  • Project brief: dictate goals, users, and open questions, then paste and add checkboxes in Notion.
  • Weekly review: dictate three wins, three lessons, one focus, then paste into your review template.
  • Personal note: dictate a rough thought, paste into a Notion inbox page for later.

Common mistakes

  • Waiting for a Zahvox Notion plugin that does not exist yet.
  • Trying to dictate into Notion directly through the browser; browser speech recognition does not bind to arbitrary Notion blocks.
  • Formatting inside Zahvox; keep it plain, format in Notion.
  • Losing the draft by refreshing the tab; copy before you close.
  • Running two speech sessions at once; only one browser mic session can hold the microphone.

Using OS dictation inside Notion

If you must dictate directly into a Notion block, use macOS Dictation or Windows Voice Typing while your cursor is in Notion. That bypasses Zahvox and its transcript view; you get raw text with no cleanup step. It works for short notes.

Browser and device notes

Chrome or Edge on desktop are the most reliable for Zahvox. Notion runs in both. On mobile, use the Notion app with the phone keyboard mic; that is the OS dictation, not a Notion feature. Zahvox auto-restarts supported browser speech recognition sessions where the browser allows it.

Honest product status

A Notion integration is in development or planned. Today the answer is copy and paste. If another page promises a live Notion plugin, that is not this product yet.
