No. /tool works without an account. Formatting will need an account when it ships because it ties to paid plans.

Does it require a download?

No. Formatting will run in the same browser experience as the current tool.

Which browsers work best?

Chrome on desktop and Android is the most reliable. Edge and Safari also work. Firefox does not support the browser speech API today.

The free web voice tool and the free writing utilities stay free. Formatting and cleanup are planned as paid features on Writer and Pro tiers.

What is planned next?

Writing modes, personas, templates and saved history sit next to formatting on the roadmap.

How does formatting relate to cleanup?

Cleanup handles the words. Formatting handles the layout. They will pair well but each is optional.

Does Zahvox store my text?

The current free web tool does not save your text to a Zahvox account. Text stays in your browser session until you copy or download it.

What basic formatting means

· Formatting is the visual layer on top of the transcript.
· It turns one long spoken block into short paragraphs a reader can skim.
· It turns a list you spoke out loud into a short bulleted list.
· It does not rewrite your sentences. It only adjusts breaks, spacing and light structure.

Why this matters

· A wall of text is hard to read on a phone.
· Most spoken updates are actually two or three ideas that need their own paragraphs.
· Formatting turns a rough note into something a reader will actually finish.
· It also makes cleanup and writing modes work better, because they operate on well-structured input.

How basic formatting will work in Zahvox

Intended workflow. Not fully live yet.

· You speak into the Zahvox web tool as normal. The live transcript captures your words.
· You press a format action on the transcript. Paragraph breaks, short lists and light structure appear.
· You review, adjust, and keep or restore the raw transcript at any point.
· You copy or download the formatted text and paste it into email, docs, notes or a CMS. This is the intended workflow. It is not fully live yet.

Current limitations

· This feature is in development. The current Zahvox web tool does not include the full workflow yet.
· Automatic formatting is not fully live. Today the editor lets you add breaks and bullets by hand.
· Formatting will not invent headings or claims that were not in your spoken input.
· Very short transcripts do not need formatting and may be left as one paragraph.
· Long speech sessions still depend on browser behaviour for the underlying capture.
