What the free writing utilities are

Alongside the main voice tool, Zahvox ships a set of small writing utilities. Each one does a single job well and stays out of the way. Together they cover the everyday text jobs writers do around their main draft: measuring it, cleaning it, and shaping it into a common format.

Today the set includes a word counter, a character counter, a reading time calculator, a typing speed calculator, a voice notes cleaner, an email draft generator, and a meeting notes formatter. More will be added as writing workflows suggest them.

Why these utilities matter

Most writing days involve constant small measurements and small formatting decisions. Is this LinkedIn hook too long? How many characters is this tweet? How long will this article take a reader? How messy is this dictation before I send it? A tool that captures your voice but leaves those measurements to other websites forces you to context-switch every few minutes.

The utilities exist so those small tasks stay in one place, right next to the main voice-to-writing workflow. Speak the draft, count it, clean it, format it, and ship it — without opening a new tab for every question.

How they work today

Each utility is a small web page you can open on its own. Paste text in, get an instant result. There is no upload step. The utilities run in the browser and treat the pasted text as ephemeral — nothing is stored server-side.

The utilities are also designed to sit close to the main voice tool. A dictated transcript can be copied out of the tool and pasted into the word counter or the voice notes cleaner in seconds. Over time, some of these will connect more directly with the main tool so the paste step goes away.

Limitations to know

• · The utilities are stateless — closing the tab clears the text you pasted. Copy or download the result if you need it.
• · They are separate pages today, not embedded inside the main voice tool. Tighter integration is planned.
